How to get ASTR and use vASTR

vASTR characteristics

• vASTR unstaking period: 0~7 days (flexible)

• OpenGov: No

• Reward fee: 10% (apply to rewards only)

• Unstake fee: 0.1% (apply to unstake amount)

Get ASTR on Bifrost

Before minting and using vASTR you first need to hold ASTR in the Bifrost network. Prepare ASTR on your EVM/native wallet address: - Purchase ASTR on CEX or DEX - Buy ASTR with credit card with fiat on-ramp solutions (i.e Banxa) - Withdraw from other ecosystem parachains (HydraDX, Moonbeam, Astar...)

1. Login to bifrost.app and confirm the network in the upper right corner is Polkadot

3. Click "Cross chain" in the main navigation menu on the left to enter the cross chain function

4. Click on the "From" option and select Astar. You will be asked to connect your EVM wallet and switch to Astar network.

As indicated, you can also use the official Astar portal to do the cross chain operation.

5. Enter the amount of ASTR that needs to be crossed in into Bifrost, and click "Cross in" to complete the confirmation and sign the transaction. Finally wait for the transaction to be completed (6 to 12s). You successfully deposited ASTR on Bifrost !

Stake ASTR

1. Click on vStaking in the main navigation menu, then click vASTR to enter the vASTR page

2. Enter the amount of ASTR to be minted into vASTR in the right panel (0.5 ASTR is the minimum)

2. Click on "Stake" button, confirm and sign the transaction. Once vASTR are minted they are directly deposited in your Bifrost wallet.

Unstake ASTR

There are 2 options to unstake ASTR from vASTR.

• Full unstaking request (you retain full vASTR value)

• Lightning mode (you swap at market price, most of the time you won't get full value)

1. On the vASTR page, click the toggle button in the middle of the right panel so that vASTR is at the top

2. Enter the amount of vASTR that needs to be redeemed

3. Click on "Unstake" button, confirm and sign the transaction

4. Go to "Unstake" tab in the top navigation of the vASTR page to view the latest progress of your request

Unstake ASTR (lightning mode)

1. On the vASTR page, click the toggle button in the middle of the right panel so that vASTR is at the top

2. Turn on the lightning mode option in the ASTR part

3. Enter the amount of vASTR that needs to be redeemed into ASTR

4. Click on "Swap" button, confirm and sign the transaction

5. You will get ASTR immediately back in your wallet once the swap is executed
